Description
A group of small cascades is spread across the top of Mink Falls, nestled in a forest beside the Trans Canada Highway north of Lake Superior, Ontario.
I found this waterfall to be a bit odd, in the sense that there's absolutely no development around it at all. No lookout, no signs, nothing. It's along a hiking trail off of the highway as you're driving on the north shore of Lake Superior, but if you didn't already know it was there, you would never know it was there. I did know it was there, and I still managed to pass by it even though I slowed down and was looking for it. There's a small parking lot on the other side of the highway (if you could call it that... it looked more like an alcove in the rocks), so I turned around and parked there to have a closer look. Sure enough, there was a small path which was not marked at all, so I walked across the highway to check it out. Good thing I did, because I was treated to this beautiful scenery.
