A lone, empty bench awaits weary hikers at the top of a trail in 1000 Islands National Park, Ontario, overlooking Landon Bay and the St. Lawrence River on a gloomy day.
About five kilometres east of Gananoque, Landon Bay is one of the largest bays in the Thousand Islands, and extends nearly two kilometres inland. It's broad and shallow where it meets the river, but about halfway in, it abruptly narrows and becomes dramatically confined between steep, high granite rock walls. One of the best viewpoints in the area is from this cliff, a bit of a hike in from the road.
Hi, everybody! Toronto-based photographer here, having lived in this city all my life. It's a great place if you like large, busy cities, but I prefer smaller places. Anyway, although my education and work experience has been primarily in math and computer programming and similar subjects, my passions lie elsewhere.
