Artist's Description
A large inukshuk guards the shore of Lake Ontario in Colonel Samuel Smith Park in Toronto, while a parasailor enjoys the water on a bright sunny day in Toronto.
Sam Smith park was largely constructed out of landfill, so these rocky shores contain various bits of brick, rebar, and other building materials mixed in with the rocks. It's quite a popular park on a nice spring or summer day, with various hiking trails and beaches (sandy ones along with rocky ones like this), and views of the downtown core of Toronto. Many people enjoy water activities, such as the parasailing shown here, as well as jet skiing and paddle boarding. It's also quite common to find these inukshuks built on the rocky beaches.
