The turquoise glacial waters of Lake Louise in Banff National Park, Alberta rest nestled amid the Canadian Rocky Mountains in the afternoon sun.

Named after Princess Louise Caroline Alberta, the lake's turquoise water comes from rock flour carried into the lake by melt-water from the glaciers that overlook the lake. A popular tourist attraction and likely the most well-known of all the glacial lakes in the national park, it offers a variety of activities in the area including hiking trails, mountain biking, horseback riding, rock climbing, kayaking, and canoeing.

For any nature lover out there, this lake (and the national park in general) is a must see if you're in the area! This picture was taken while on the path leading around the back of the lake; supposedly, there's a hiking trail there that leads to a tea house, but unfortunately we were a bit tight on time so we didn't have a chance to explore that far.

Anyway, although my education and work experience has been primarily in math and computer programming and similar subjects, my passions lie elsewhere.
