The Western Brook Pond in Gros Morne National Park, Newfoundland is seen on a gloomy, overcast, and rainy day.

The Western Brook Pond was one of the highlights of the whole trip, although in reality I enjoyed every place I went. A UNESCO World Heritage site, the "pond" is technically not a pond - it's a lake. It used to be a fjord, but it lost that designation. The guide explained why, but I don't remember what he said. The pond was gorgeous - at the end of the tour, the guide told us that anyone who hadn't paid for the second part of the ticket had to get off there. Haha, very funny.

The parking lot is a 3 kilometre hike away from the boat dock, but it's not a strenuous hike, and it does come with some beautiful scenery. As you can see in this picture, it was quite a gloomy day - great for pictures, but not so great for hiking. I got rained on during the entire boat tour as well as the hike back.

Hi, everybody! Toronto-based photographer here, having lived in this city all my life. It's a great place if you like large, busy cities, but I prefer smaller places. Anyway, although my education and work experience has been primarily in math and computer programming and similar subjects, my passions lie elsewhere.
